“It’s a lovely reminder that life isn’t always about going going going.”
There’s nothing like coming home from a loooong day at work and having something relaxing to look forward to. In the past I’ve used bubble baths, face masks, yoga, and – no surprise – other forms of exercise. I would highly recommend all those things! But while these are all amazing ways to relax, I was curious about the other ideas out there. After some research, I’ve compiled a list of relaxation products that I think anyone could benefit from using.
Just like the wellness books I mentioned in one of my past posts, the things on the list below would make excellent gifts (for others, and yourself!). They could be useful for anyone in your life who is always going and pushing themselves to the limit. All of these items help remind us to slow down amidst the chaos of our frantic lives and take a little time for ourselves!
Please note: Below I’ve provided links to Amazon for all of the gift ideas. I am an Amazon affiliate and only promote products that I truly believe in. I may receive compensation if you purchase an item through one of my links , but this in no way affects the cost to you. Thank you!
Essential oil infuser
I love the idea of essential oil infusers. Certain scents can help transport us to another place. I wholeheartedly believe that calming aromas can help us relax and even help us sleep. It was something I learned growing up, when my mom gave me a nighttime pillow spray that smelled heavenly and helped me quickly fell asleep. But sleep is only one of the benefits. Essential oils having soothing effects that help relieve stress. It would be great to use during meditation, yoga, or to unwind after a particularly trying day.
Scented eye pillow
Along the same lines, infused eye pillows are extremely comforting due to their pleasant scent. The heavy ones provide stress relief as well, working in a similar way to weighted blankets. They create a sense of comfort while blocking out harsh light. I first used a lavender one at the end of a yoga class during savasana and it doubled the tranquil effect.
Relaxing wall art
Ambiance is everything. Have you ever gone apartment or house hunting, and when you enter a place you just know whether it’s right or not? What we surround ourselves with matters. There are tons of ways to decorate your living space – why not make it “zen zone”? I was browsing through Amazon’s wall art collection and found some truly beautiful pieces that made me think of a spa. And why wouldn’t I want my home to feel like a spa?? These and other similar pictures would be perfect gifts for the aesthetic-deprived.
Stress Less Cards
Now this is something a little different! I love the idea of having a way to relax during day-to-day activities. Because let’s face it, a lot of our stressors do come from the outside world. I found these stress less cards that have motivational bits of advice and provide reminders to just breathe and relax during your day. If you feel an anxiety attack on the horizon, you can take one of these cards out of your bag and take a moment to reflect. It’s a lovely reminder that life isn’t always about going going going.
Herbal tea is probably my favorite way to relax. I have at least one cup of tea every day. There’s nothing quite like a huge, steamy mug of hydration. I have two that I absolutely LOVE. One is Tazo’s Calm Chamomile tea. It has the addition of rose petals and other herbs that make it unique from many other chamomiles I’ve tried.
The second is Twining’s Winter Spice Tea. Oh. My. Word. This one is Christmas in a cup! It has a slight trace of apple (but not too much to be gross) and isn’t actually spicy. With a base of chamomile and a mix of cinnamon, cardamom, and clove, it’s just so perfect.
Seriously guys, these teas are like no other.
While sending thoughtful notes to people is extremely sweet and uplifting, there’s nothing quite like a concrete daily reminder that someone’s thinking of you. During a recent hard period in my life, my mom sent me a pura vida bracelet and ring as gifts so that I could wear them every day and know my family was thinking about me. It’s an incredibly comforting thought. The ring she got me is in the shape of a wave, so it also is a reminder to go with the flow despite what may come across my path. I absolutely love it, and would highly recommend these simple yet beautifully designed pieces to others as perfect gifts.
That’s all I got for now! Bookmark this page and keep these items in mind as Christmas approaches. They would all make excellent gifts during a season that can often be stress-filled. When the weather is dreary and cold, it’s nice to have something comforting to look forward to. Let me know if you’d recommend any other fun relaxation gifts in the comments below!
